Tropical World…

On Sunday morning daddy treated us to the most picturesque family adventure ever. Where was this adventure you ask? Well it was in Leeds at Tropical world and well worth the drive.

From the moment we got there we were in total awe of the beautiful autumnal colours and we were only in the gardens attached to Tropical World.

Even Ella on more than one occasion kept saying how pretty or beautiful it was. It makes me truly happy that my five and a half year old can appreciate the beauty of nature!

Every little section seemed to have a different sort of theme to it. There were beds of roses and a miniature maze for children which also contained roses throughout.

To the left and through an archway was a beautiful little garden with a fountain in the middle of it. Ella and Holly were drawn to the fountain straight away and quite happily stood there looking at it.

At the one end of this little garden was the most gorgeous little tree with vibrant red leaves. The girls both really enjoyed exploring this little garden as they got to climb up and around the gorgeous little red tree. The minutes seemed to just vanish before you as you took in the beauty of this garden and explored it!

Once we were finished exploring we went inside to explore Tropical World. Upon entering the building we were greeted by the most magnificent gift shop i had ever seen! There were even toys hanging from the ceiling and the displays were just *wow*.

We paid our entrance fee at the till and off we went.

First up were the butterflies which our girls absolutely loved as they got to hold them. They were very gentle with them and didn’t once touch their wings. I can’t tell you how many times we went around this section as the girls just loved holding the butterflies.

Forget about the Koi

or the crocodile

and even the turtles that were in this section too.

20151025_130017

As the girlies were only interested in the butterflies. *Bless them*
Ella was even so kind as to pass the butterfly onto other little children who stood watching in amazement.

Once we finally made it to the next section we were greeted by big tanks. the first tank contained Paranhas . I can’t recall what any of the other fishes were called sadly. But we did manage to see some other big fishes getting fed, which was pretty awesome. They ate grapes, pieces of bananas etc and in a single gulp to *yikes*.

20151025_131306

20151025_131543

Through the next section were the tropical birds and a lovely waterfall.

20151025_132659

20151025_131903

After that and one level up were the snakes *yuck, yuck, yuck* and a few other reptiles.

20151025_132301

on the other side and well away from the snakes were some kind of monkeys, which you passed as you headed out to the next section.

20151025_132327

On to find the memekats {meerkats} we went. *It was kinda like a bear hunt as we got to go over a bridge and everything.* lol

20151025_132530

When we finally got to the memekats *oops sorry* meerkats! both Ella and Holly sat quietly watching them in a trance like state.

20151025_133202

After some time we finally managed to pry them away from the meerkats it was onto the nocturnal section for us. Where we saw bats and other various nocturnal animals, just like the snake section we didn’t spend long there but just passed through quickly as Holly doesn’t enjoy being in the dark.

Before  we knew it we were in the last section where the beautiful coloured tropical fishes, seahorses and yet more turtles were.

20151025_133911 20151025_134114

This was a rather small and busy little section so it took a little time to get through. Once we managed to get through this section we ended up where we had started right back at the butterflies. Which of course meant we had to do the butterfly section at least another two times!

On our way out we went around the gift shop so the girls could choose a souvenir. Both Holly and Ella ended up choosing a meerkat which are a tad different, as Ella got one with big sparkly eyes. We all also got an ice-cream which we sat and ate out in the garden by the miniature maze.

Which was a perfect way to end such a wonderful family outing.

Did you get up to anything special this weekend?

Cadburys World…

The whole week prior to our visit we were all buzzing with excitement, at the thought of our visit to Cadburys world. Saturday couldn’t come fast enough for all of us.

Finally after a long drawn out wait Saturday was here *Yippee*! After getting the kiddies ready and piling them into the car we set off. We spent an excruciating 2 hours drive to Cadburys World with Holly going off on one in the back seat. Thankfully an hour or so into our journey she fell asleep. *Pheeew*.

Moments after Holly woke up we had arrived at Cadburys world. We then headed inside to the ticket queue where John showed the tiller our voucher. She looked at it before handing him an itinerary brochure. Then off we went to explore. The first stop was the gift shop which was just opposite the entrance tills.

When we were done we went back outside to go and find the African Adventure play area. However right there by the playground was the 4d  chocolate adventure, so we did that first as there were no queues. Into the lift our little family went. The man in the lift got us to look up at its ceiling as we travelled down. There we saw the Cadburys Parrot trying to avoid things and dropping his mini eggs.

The lift came to a stop where we got off into a little room where the last question of the quiz was being asked. After choosing the correct answer we all were then taken into the 4d chocolate adventure.

The 4d chocolate adventure was fantastic Ella loved every moment of it. Holly on the other did not like it one bit! In her words “I is a little bit scared”.

As we tried to make our way out we found ourselves in a games room.

image

After we were finished playing games we headed for the play area. Even though it wasn’t the warmest of days the girls still enjoyed playing on the toys.

image

Whilst Holly and I were in the smaller play area for 2-5 year olds we spotted Freddo frog and Caramel bunny, so we wondered out of the play area to go and see them. When we found out they were posing for pictures I phoned John to bring Ella who was just in the play area behind them.

image

Once I had finished taking a picture of the girls with Freddo and Caramel we headed back to the small play area.

Having played there for quite some time we decided to move on and explore a little more of the trail. Next stop was the Bournville experience which was like a little museum and it also had some more historic video clips.

After that we decided to do another trail but we were unable to find it so we headed into Bournville.

Oh but not before having a little bit of fun with the fallen autumn leaves. Ella was throwing and kicking them about as I tried to photograph her.

image

image

Before we knew it we had to move on as we were running out of time. So off we dashed into Bournville for a quick nose around. We had a little nose around this one shop with really pretty souvenirs in.

image

Before heading out again to look at some squirrels and have a quick play with yet some more leaves.

Next thing we knew daddy was hurrying us back as it was nearly time for our Cadburys self explored exhibition tour. Holly really didn’t enjoy this as it was to dark for her liking as we went through the Aztec Jungle and the Journey to Europe. The Cadburys story wasn’t much better for her as the holographic head really freaked her out. So all we heard was “I scared. I is a little bit scared” once again. *Shame I felt so bad for her*. I ended up giving her one of the cadburys chocolate bars we were given just before we entered the Aztec Jungle. This sort of helped calm her a little bit. Even though she still let us know between mouthful that she was still scared.

A little further along the way Ella got her picture taken in front of a great big green wall. Where they super imposed her riding a chocolate wave on a cadburys bar.

As we continued on our tour we saw how they chocolate was wrapped and packaged by the great big machines. I must admit the smell was just amazing.

The moment Holly saw the Cadabra ride she was happy and couldn’t wait to board it. It really was a lovely little ride filled with cute little coco bean characters in a magical setting. *It really made me wonder why the whole of cadburys couldn’t have been like this*.

Towards the end of our tour we were each given a little cup of melted chocolate with our choice of sweets in it.

image

image

With our tour now being over we excited via the gift shop.

Holly being obsessed with Caramel since having met her got a Caramel bunny for her souvenir, and Ella chose a Cadburys Parrot as she had taken a shine to him. The girls also each got a ruler with their names on it and some chocolate freddos for a treat on the school runs.

Although we had some lovely moments at Cadburys World I doubt we’ll ever go back. Because if I’m honest it was really disappointing and the price for what there was quite frankly wasn’t worth it!

We were luck my mom gave us the family tickets she had won, cause if we had actually paid for it we would have wanted our money back. *Yes in our opinion it was that bad*.

Word of the week #33 – Imagination

image

There is just something so magical about imagination. With it you can be anyone or anything you choose to be. You can travel to far a way places. Be a princess, a prince or even a knight in shining armour the possibility are endless!

That’s why this week has been extra special as I’ve gotten to watch Holly’s imagination come to life. It’s so sweet watching her imagination unfold as she lies there on her changing mat, with nothing more than her little fingers and endless imagination! As she lies there on her back her little fingers are magically transformed into Peppa pig and George, and she quite happily lies there playing as I go about changing her.

Her imagination doesn’t stop there. I see it as she sits quietly playing on her own surrounded by her favourite toys.

Imagination is something truly magnificent and should be encouraged on a daily basis. For without our lives would become ever so dull, and after all does our creativity not stem from our imagination?

You’ll never be forgotten my beautiful Angels

To my beautiful Angels,

I know I don’t talk to you like I used to do before. In truth you may even seem to think that I have forgotten you and all. My darlings my sweet, sweet darlings this couldn’t be further from the truth.

How could I ever forget yous. You both meant the world to me and always will. When I lost you both and only several months apart my world as I knew it came tumbling down. Never have I know such heartache and in truth I’ve been through a lot. But nothing on earth comes close to losing the both of you!

When I lost yous my heart broke like it’s never broken before. I literally fell apart. I ached for yous like I’ve never ached for one or anything.

Thoughts of all the things I’d never get experience with you both came rushing to the surface, and along with them came the endless tears.

It was the darkest and hardest days of my life!

A time I will never forget either,  because before all that heartache, came all the love and joy. My darling angels you are still very loved and you always will be. As you carry a piece of my heart with yous!

So please remember how loved you are and that you mean the world to me.

Fly high my beautiful angels…

Wicked Wednesday #40 – The nutella obsession

Holly’s obsession with nutella is just going from bad to worse. Last night she flat out refused to eat her dinner and opted for a spoon of nutella instead. *Total madness I know*

As if that wasn’t bad enough. She then had a mini meltdown this morning  because I told her she couldn’t have nutella for breakfast. #badmommy

I can see me having to ban Nutella in our house.

Our 7th Wedding Anniversary dinner…

This Sunday gone John and I have been together for fifteen years and married seven.

Even when I look at my darling hubby now I can’t believe how lucky I am to have him in my life. Not only is he a wonderful husband, but he’s an amazing father! Which is something rather rare in this day and age… *Ssssh* don’t tell him but I hit the jackpot with him!!!!

So to celebrate our anniversary John took the girls and I out for dinner at the Olive Bar and Grill. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was just *wow*.

Unfortunately Holly didn’t think so, she got very upset when she saw her yummy chicken skewer. You see although Holly had wanted chicken she expected it to be coated with breadcrumbs or at the very least with batter. So this just wasn’t going to cut it!

Whilst we all at our yummylicious dinner Holly was eating her double scoop chocolate and vanilla ice cream. I’m please to say she thoroughly enjoyed every spoonful of it.

Here’s some pictures from our family meal out. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Word of the week #32 – playing

Happy Friday lovely readers!

My word of the week this week is without a doubt playing. Holly and I have done a lot of playing this week whether its been together or on her own. We have both had so much fun!

Here is just a few of the games we ended up playing.

We filled Ella’s playmobil waterslide pool up and had some splashtastic fun with Peppa and her friends.

image

image

image

Then there was the hide and seek game which involved lots of tickling. This has to my favourite game of the week as there was loads of laughter. We both really seemed to enjoy playing this game as you can tell from the picture below.

image

Yesterday was the first time since my operation that I’ve wondered outside on my own with either of the girls. I decided after the day I was having {family issues} that I needed to get out. So I asked Holly if she’d like to go to the park. Of course the answer was a big YES!

So we got ready and off we went. We both had a lovely time playing in the park, despite the fact I couldn’t lift Holly onto the swings. Not that it bothered this happy little munchkin who was contempt playing on the slide and roundabout .

What a lovely week this has been playing with my gorgeous little girl, and making all these wonderful memories.

Did you have a good week and did you make any new memories?

Wicked Wednesday #39 – Dang this gal loves her Nutella!

Errrm so this happened this afternoon….

Mommy I want chocolate!
Holly sweetheart we don’t have chocolate.
But I want chocolate!!
Holly sweetheart I’m sorry but we don’t have any. Will some nutella do?
Yes please…

Off I go to the kitchen to get Holly a spoon of nutella. She follows after me. I hand her the spoon of nutella and off she goes to the lounge.

So there’s Holly happily sat on my sofa savouring every lick/suck of her nutella. When the last bit drops off and lands on her foot.

“Argh nutella on my foot I eat it mommy”.

image

Oh no!
Nutella on my hand too.

Hmmm I think it’s safe to say that Holly loves nutella to much to waste it lol.
