What Sunday brought us….

After John buying the girls their gorgeous scarf hats on Saturday, I was desperate to take the girls into the woods/forest and snap a few pictures of them.

The idea was to get some nice Autumn pictures of them throwing or kicking leaves about. But sadly this was not to be as what leaves there were and trust there weren’t many were slightly damp. *Okay I might have had unrealistic expectations when it came to these leaf piles*. Lol

To be honest this was rather very disappointing to me and I didn’t bother trying to hide my disappointment. For i had pictured gorgeous coloured autumn leaves being thrown through the air by two beautiful little princesses having the time of their lives. As I happily clicked away using my camera/phone.

Well the reality was so very different! Ella unlike Holly was all up for it and loved every minute of being in the woods/forest. Holly made daddy carry her and refused to wear her hat let alone have her picture taken.

With a little coaxing from daddy Holly started to come around and was eventually walking instead of being carried. But this was only after we { I mean me} had had enough and decided we should just give up and go home. However daddy had different ideas and “asked who would like to go for ice-cream”?

So we headed back towards the car with Ella leading the way. Yeah we ended up going a completely different way than we had come. Thankfully it took us still to the main path leading back to the car.

With the promise of ice-cream and a much happier Holly I managed to get a few pictures of Holly and Ella together. These were the best ones.

image

Whilst John unlocked the car and got Holly strapped in I took these pictures of Ella.

Shortly afterwards we joined daddy and Holly in the car and off we went.

It wasn’t long before we arrived at Sunnybank Garden Centre Home Of The Yorkshire Ice-cream Farm.

image

Oh goodness me if you’re lucky enough to live near by, but you just haven’t yet been then I highly recommend you do. Their ice-cream is absolutely amazing and there are sooò many weird but wonderful flavours to choose from. You wanna know the crazy thing is the flavours really work and complement each other very well!

For my first three scoops *yes you read right* I had pistachio {my favourite from our first visit}, honeycomb and turkish delight. Mmmm just thinking about it now is making my mouth water.

image

Ella also had three scoops. She choose vanilla, Belgium chocolate and mint which she thoroughly enjoyed.

image

For Holly we got a single scoop of vanilla which of course she loved. Holly also had the pleasure of tasting all of ours. To be honest we all kinda gave each a taste of all the different flavours we had gotten. Which was nice!

image

In between eating our ice-creams or not as the case maybe, as the girls wandered off to go play on and off. Which was okay as we were sat at the tables and chairs in the lovely little playground area.

image

image

It really is lovely there. Believe it or not its rather peaceful and relaxing to sit there, and enjoy your delicious ice-creams.

After our second round of ice-creams we decided it was time to leave. As we needed to go to Sainsburys before they closed to get Holly’s prescription filled.

What fun and exciting things did you get upto this weekend?

Monthly Monday Melfie #7 – October

Yippee it’s time to link up with the lovely Elfa over at Californianmuminlondon for her absolutely fabulous linky that is #monthlymondaymelfie.

Both of these melfies were taken on Saturday morning. As with everything going on this past month I haven’t been upto having my picture taken.

Melfie number one:
This was taken in the car on the way to Morrisons. Which leaves Holly with no choice but to have her picture taken with me.

image

Melfie number two:
This was taken in Tesco’s car park. After Morrisons we went to Tesco’s to buy the girls some new wellies. You see Tesco has just the cutest little zebra wellies that I just had to get for the girls. Unfortunately they didn’t have the girl’s sizes *oh poo*. However Ella did spot these fabulous scarf hats, which of course we just had to have daddy buy!

Of course once they were paid for we just had to wear them and of course that meant we had to take a selfie too.

Could it possible be that we are living with a threenager?

Aaack what’s going on here? Where has my sweet little princess gone and when did she become such a MADAM??

image

I don’t know what it is lately but Holly is being such a madam. The cheek we are getting off her is unreal, and if that wasn’t bad enough you should hear the way she’s talking to her sister. *Yikes*

Could it be? Now that she’s just gone two that we are hitting the threenager ALREADY!?! *Oh please God no!*

Over the last week or so she has gone from my sweet sweet little girl to a moody stroppy tantrum throwing little madam. *Shudders*. I have told her off numerous times for the way she is talking to her big sister and everyone else. But sadly it doesn’t do any good.

Quite frankly I’m out of ideas on how to deal with my stroppy little tot. As I have tried everything short of picking her up and putting her on time out {which I of course can’t at the moment}.

Signing off one very baffled and almost grey mommy. Xoxo 💋

Keep Calm and Carry On Linking Sunday

Word of the week #31 – Longing

I’m linking up with the lovely Jocelyn from TheReadingResidence for #wotw.

As some of you may or may not know I have recently had an operation to remove my gallbladder and gallstones. Unfortunately they weren’t able to do everything they needed to do via keyhole and had to go in properly. This has now left my with a lovely big cut just under my ribs and a recovery time of 6 to 8 weeks. Not only does it make moving, breathing, coughing and sneezing difficult but it also means I can’t pick my babies up.

Which is something I’m really longing to do!

image

With every passing moment
I long to carry you
To feel you wriggle and jiggle
As you shake with bouts of giggles

Oh how I long to carry you two
As I’ve done so many times before

But sadly I can’t as this would only break me more.

With every passing moment I feel my heart breaking
As I watch you with arms wide open longing to be carried!!

The flying visit from my family in Scotland.

Late Saturday afternoon my mom, two sisters, my nieces and my youngest sister’s dog arrived here from Scotland.

A little after me slaving away at making macaroni cheese with bacon through it and garlic bread, they headed back to the hotel with us in tow. The reason we went back to the hotel with them is because Ella would be having a sleepover at the hotel with her Nana,  cousins and aunties. So we drove Ella there.

Unfortunately when it came to saying good bye to her big sister Holly got really upset. She was so distraught we ended up missing our turning so it took us twice as long to get home.

Sunday morning we drove out to the hotel to meet up with everyone and then headed off to CliftonPark.

Sadly we weren’t there for very long as people were cold and Roxi {the dog} was scared from all the noise.

Even though we weren’t there very long the little ones all seemed to have fun at one point or another.

Below are a few of my favourite pictures from Sunday.

Ella designs her very own “Cardboard Dream House”.

When I asked Ella what her dream house would look like she told me it would be a rainbow coloured brick house. The reason she wanted it rainbow coloured is because rainbows are pretty and they make everyone happy!

Before Ella could get started designing her dream house daddy had to build it first. Even on next to no sleep daddy still managed to assemble it in next to no time at all. And this is what it looked like.

image

Eeek Ella was extremely happy that it was now built and as you can imagine she couldn’t wait to get started.

So as Ella decided she was going to paint her dream house, I got her paints and sponge ready for her to begin.

Ella – mommy I want to paint my roof purple, red and blue using my sponge to make it look like bricks. Ooò and I want my chimney to be red!

image

image

Once Ella was done sponging both sides of her roof she move onto the side bit of the roof. Where the round little window is and she painted it red.

image

image

The front, back and one side of Ella’s house are all bricked in orange, green and yellow.

image

image

Ella decided to make the one side wall even more special by making it a feature wall. Instead of a brick wall like the rest. On her feature wall she painted a flower, then drew a balloon,  flowers on either side of the one window, a cake beneath the window and a butterfly above. Then using paint stamps she stamped butterflies and teddy bears.

image

Ta-da one girlie feature wall finished.

image

With only the doors left to paint Ella decided she wanted them to be purple  {her favourite colour}. Sadly painting the doors warped them slightly. However this did not dampen Ella’s spirits as she as so proud of her house!

image

Look mommy my house is finished and I absolutely love it!!

Wicked Wednesday #37 – Tortured with L♡VE…

Eeek it’s Wednesday already and that means it is time to link up with Em from brummymummyof2 for #WickedWednesday.

Today’s wicked Wednesday is of Ella when she was just two months old. As you can see even back then I used to torture Ella with taking photographs. These pictures range from having her pants on her head to me shoving her in a gift bag.

image

Haha whilst this may appear to be so mean it is also oh so cute. Don’t you think?

The sweetest Daddy!

It’s the little things that truly mean the most.

Today as I lay on the sofa watching John attempting to plait Ella’s hair for the first time.

image

I realised how truly blessed the girls and I are to have such a caring and loving man in our lives!

A man who love and dotes on us so much.
A man who would do anything to make the woman/girls in his life happy.
A man who is going out of his way to learn how to style his five year olds hair. So that he can do more than just a ponytail for her, whilst her mommy and sister are away in Scotland for a month.

We truly are blessed to have such a wonderful man in our lives. Thank-you for being such a wonderful daddy and husband.

We love you to the moon and back!

♡♡Love you Daddy/Hubby ♡♡ xoxo
