So it’s finally happening, the forces that be have now set the wheels in motion! Yesterday afternoon on our walk down to collect Ella from school, I let Holly out of her pram to walk as we neared the school gates. We had not quite reached the gates yet when Holly dropped her dummy *oh dear*. I had warned her previously to be careful not to drop it at it would have to go *bye byes* in the bin.
So there it was lying on the dirty pavement before her very little feet. *Uh-òh*. Oh bless her she just stood there staring at it until I picked it up and told her to say *bye bye* as it now has to go in the bin.
Holly waved at her dummy and said her good byes.
She’s being very good about it too. Sometimes she forgets and askes about it and when I explain it’s gone *bye byes* she just gets on with what ever she is doing. Then other times like tonight after her dinner she went to the sofa arm out of habit to get her dummy, but it wasn’t there and when I explained to her that it had gone *bye byes* she *cried* a little for it.
As for getting her off to sleep it now takes a little longer and that’s to be expected. As it’s a huge change for her, as she’s used to having her dummy twenty four seven!
John and I are so very proud of how well she seems to be dealing with this huge upheaval in her little life.
Well done Holly sweetheart!!
