On Sunday I decided to bake some cookies with the girlies. It was a very big deal as it was Holly’s first time ever baking. So not only was it all new to her but it was also a new and special experience for Ella and I.
Before we began I measured out all of our ingredients so everything was ready to go.
100g butter, softened
150g self raising flour
100g light muscovado sugar
1 tbsp golden syrup
85g smarties which can be substituted for chocolate chips
1} Preheat the oven to 180° or 160° for a fan assisted oven.
2} Beat the butter and sugar in a bowl until light and creamy, then beat in the syrup.
3} Work in half the flour. Stir in the smarties with the remaining flour and work the dough together with your fingers.
4} Divide into 14 balls, place them well apart on the baking sheets. Do not flatten.
5} Bake for 12 minutes until pale golden at the edges.
6} Leave for a few minutes to firm up before moving to cool on a wire rack. These cookies will keep for upto 4 days in an airtight container .
We all had a fantastic time baking and I really can’t wait to do it all over again with my gorgeous princesses.
